Sea Foam Dreams

$245.00

Mixed media artwork featuring the Tabula Selenographica, a 1742 map of the lunar surface. This piece also includes “Peromedusae” from Ernst Haeckel’s Art Forms in Nature, a 1923 illustration of Russell’s Sting Ray (Trygon russellii), “Cepheus” by Sidney Hall, and an 1844 echinoderm print from the Atlas de zoologie: ou collection de 100 planches. Accented by genuine shells, coral, aventurine, a dried daisy, and beaded embroidery. Beads used include Czech glass, mother of pearl, genuine rough turquoise, assorted gemstones, and shells. One-of-a-kind.

This shadow box has a hinged front door with magnetic closure. While it has the hardware attached for hanging, I recommend it be displayed standing on a shelf or cabinet.

Made using heavyweight cardstock, gemstones, beads, and natural finds, and displayed in a 14×18” black shadow box frame with glass door. While this frame is not wood, it is sturdy and will hold up well.

All of my items are ethically sourced; no living animal is ever removed from its home. I only take what I need, in addition to picking up any plastics or trash I find along the way. Ocean conservation is a mission that I give back to - 10% of net proceeds are donated to a reputable organization.

When I'm at the beach, I typically spend 4-6 hours a day beachcombing. This usually amounts to about 3-5 miles depending on how much time I spend in each shell bed. My finds are washed, soaked, washed again, and when necessary, dipped in Acid Magic. I never add oil to my shells. Every piece has been meticulously planned, laid out, readjusted, and then, usually, readjusted again for the perfect fit. These pieces are a labor of love in every way - I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

Refunds are only approved in the event of damage during transport. If you're unhappy with your order for any reason, please reach out and I will do everything I can to rectify the situation.
